Facilities Referendum - Design & Construction Updates
Belle Plaine voters approved the November 4, 2025 facilities referendum, allowing the district to move forward with important facilities improvements that will enhance safety + security, optimize operational efficiencies, and expand educational experiences!
This page will serve as the official hub for updates, timelines, project plans, and community information as this project moves forward!
Project Overview
The approved plan will reduce the number of buildings maintained from four to two, improving overall operational efficiency while creating safer and more connected learning environments. The project also supports enhanced educational programming through updated classrooms, expanded Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Fine Arts spaces, and improved collaboration opportunities across grade levels.

The timeline is preliminary and subject to change.
As the project moves through design and construction, the district will provide ongoing communication with the community. Regular updates will be shared to highlight project milestones, construction progress, timeline updates, and the positive impact these improvements will have on students and staff for generations to come.
Design & Constructions Updates
This project is actively in the designing phase. During these stages, plans are being drafted and refined, key details are being finalized, and the project begins to take clearer shape. The district team is working closely with the architects and other partners to ensure the final design aligns with educational needs, budget, and long-term goals.
